Lorraine R. Miville

May 19, 1931 — May 5, 2017

Lorraine R. Miville, age 85, left us on May 5, 2017.

She was born May 19, 1931 in Manchester, the daughter of Henri C. Lemire and Rebecca (Tessier) Lemire. She was a graduate of St. Joseph School for Girls and was a lifelong resident of Manchester's west side.

She was widowed in 1983 with the sudden loss of her husband of 33 years, Roch A. Miville.

She was a stay-at-home mom but had always been employed in the service sector, having enjoyed working with people in various capacities. She worked for a number of years at Notre Dame Hospital, then Catholic Medical Center.

She was a lifelong communicant of the former St. Jean-Baptist Parish, now Parish of the Transfiguration. She was a woman of great faith in God and shared her faith as a teacher with the CCD program and, years ago, the RENEW Program.

Lorraine's passions were genealogy and politics. She was a member of the Association de Familles Lemire d'Amerique, Inc., Canada and the American Canadian Genealogy Society of Manchester where she volunteered as a proof reader. She thrived on all things politics, especially local and NH races.

She enjoyed family gatherings, small or large, with lots of food. Christmas was her favorite time of year.

Her family was her life and includes four children, Roxanne Kate and her husband, Donald, of Hooksett, Dennis Miville of Manchester, Marc Miville and his wife, Deborah of Hooksett and Lisa Miville of Winchester, MA; six adult grandchildren: Sarah, Bryan, Matthew, Meghan, Emily and Jocelyn and three great-grandsons, William, Henry and Joseph.

At nearly 86 years, Lorraine was proud that she achieved a level of longevity beyond any in her large extended family. She was predeceased by her siblings George, Maurice and Lucille.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Parish of the Transfiguration, 305 Kelley St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.

At Lorraine's request, please omit flowers. Donations in her name may be made to New Horizons for NH, 199 Manchester St., P.O. Box 691, Manchester, NH 03105.
