She was born in Attleboro, MA on August 30, 1925, the daughter of Leon and Marie-Anne (Belanger) Paille.
She entered the Congregation of the sisters of Holy Cross in 1944 and made her final profession in 1951. She served in the Congregation for 64 years.
Sister Paille earned a BA from Notre Dame College in Manchester, and a MS in chemistry from Boston College. She taught in elementary parochial schools in Manchester, Rochester, Salmon Falls and Somersworth, NH. She also taught for 20 years at Notre Dame College in Manchester. She served as Assistant Provincial Supervisor from 1977-1984 and as Provincial Supervisor from 1984-1998. She was also a member of the Regional Team from 1995-1998
Sister Paille was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Notre Dame College and was named Trustee Emerita upon completion of her term as a member of the board.
She was also certified as a nurse assistant from St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua in 1998. Her last assignment was as Local Animator at St. George Manor / Holy Cross Health Center from 2002-2005.
She will be remembered by all for her very keen mind and her constant passion of justice for all.
She leaves a brother, Donald Paille of Attleboro, MA; a brother in-law, Donald Trahan; a nephew and several nieces.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday, October 16, 2008 in the chapel. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
