Sr. Louis Ernest (Sr. Laurette Laplante), 95, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, Manchester, NH died February 2, 2004 at Hanover Hill Healthcare Center in Manchester.
Born in Concord, NH on August 1, 1908, she was the daughter of Ernest and Cordelia (Boisvert) Laplante. She entered the order of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1932, made her first profession in 1935 and her final profession in 1940.
Sr. Louis Ernest earned a bachelor's degree in education from Rivier College, Nashua, NH. She later taught in parochial elementary schools for 49 years. She was stationed at schools in Massachusetts at Linwood and Willimansett; in Rhode Island at Marieville, North Providence, West Warwick and Woonsocket; in New Hampshire at Manchester and in Biddeford, ME. She was also the founding director of the Presentation of Mary Day Care in Hudson, NH.
She retired to St. Marie Residence in 1990 and moved to St. Joseph Residence in 1992, both in Manchester, NH.
The family includes a sister, Helene Turner of Goffstown, NH and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday February 5, 2004 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial was in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson, NH.
Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, NH was in charge of arrangements.
