Louis J. Lohnes

Louis J. Lohnes, 76, of Hooksett, died May 23, 2008, at the Elliot Hospital after a short illness.

He was born May 4, 1932, in Boston MA, and was the son of George and Theresa(Hilton) Lohnes. He was a communicant of St. Catherine Church, and a member of the League of Thousand Men of the Precious Blood Monastery.

Louis served in the United States Air Force, and for many years following his active duty, he held various positions within the Veterans Administration. Later he worked for Manchester Redi Mix, and retired from S.P. Rice Excavation Company, of Auburn.

He enjoyed the company of his family, and helping them out whenever he could.

Family members include his wife of 55 years, Irene (McLaughlin) Lohnes, of Hooksett, 2 daughters, Linda Bourgeois, of Hooksett, Diane Rice, of Auburn; a son, John Lohnes, of Manchester; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday May 27, 2008 at St Catherine Church, Webster St. Manchester.

Burial followed in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.

Memorial donations may be made to the Precious Blood Monastery, Bridge St. Manchester.
