Sr. Louise Francoise, PM (Sr. Sylvia Gagnon), 73, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary died May 15, 2006 at St. Joseph Residence, Manchester, NH.
Born in Manchester, NH on June 18, 1932, she was the daughter of Emile and Marie (Leclerc) Gagnon. She entered the Order of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1951, made her first profession in 1954 and her final profession in 1959.
She taught at parochial elementary schools in New Hampshire at Berlin and Manchester and in Rhode Island at St. Louis and St. Anne in Woonsocket. In the late 1970's she became involved in Pastoral Ministries and was the director of religious education programs and RCIA programs in Woonsocket and Keene, NH. She received her certification for Pastoral Ministry from the Ministry Institute at Notre Dame College, Manchester, NH.
Sr. Louise Francoise was later assigned to St. Marie Residence in Manchester where she served in various ministries including part-time service at St. Benedict Academy.
The family includes four brothers, Charles E. Gagnon of South Carolina, Richard N. Gagnon of Ohio, Paul L. Gagnon of Arizona and Gerard Gagnon of Manchester, NH; four sisters, Frances Irzysk of Allenstown, NH, Muriel Langevin of Hooksett, NH and Simone Bazin and Mildred Corliss both of Florida and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday May 19, 2006 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial was in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson, NH.
Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, NH was in charge of arrangements.
