Lucien Cartier

January 16, 1930 — July 17, 2008

Lucien Cartier, 78, of Manchester, died peacefully at home July 17, 2008, after a short illness. He was born in Manchester, January 16, 1930, and was the son of Edward J. and Yvonne B. Cartier. He had been a communicant of St. Anne St. Augustin Parish.

For 32 years Lucien had been a truck driver for St. Johnsbury trucking in Manchester. Prior to that he worked for 11 years at the Boston and Maine Railroad in Concord. During his retirement he worked for Dobles Chevrolet.

He was a Past Grand Knight, and Navigator fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus Council 92.

Lucien loved to snow ski in the winter and traveled throughout the country with his wife in their RV, during the summer. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, and was a real joy to be around.

Family members include his wife of 54 years, Irene (Provencher) Cartier, of Manchester; a brother Gerry Cartier, of Manchester; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday, July 21, 2008 at St. Anne St. Augustin Church, Beech St. Manchester.

Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
