She was educated in the local school system, employed in the mills and worked at Kennedy's clothing store. Later, she was self employed making a variety of canvas bags and selling them at craft shows.
For more than 15 years Lou was an advanced line dancer, which she absolutely loved doing. She also enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods with her nieces.
Lou is leaving behind many, many special friends. She will always be known for her quick wit and humor, her love for life and her notorious sweet tooth. She was full of compassion and had a heart of gold that she shared with everyone she knew. Even during her illness, Lou's bright personality and positive attitude remained. She cherished every moment with her family and took incredible pride in her 8 beautiful grandchildren who they lovingly refer to as 'Mem'.
Her family includes her three daughters and their husbands, Janet & Raymond St.Pierre of Goffstown, Donna & David Poirier of Hooksett, Kristine & Steven Belanger of Bedford, and Lou's precious grandchildren, Jill and Kara St.Pierre, Ryan his wife Emily and Nathan Poirier, Sage, Jace, Kade, & Lexi Belanger. She is also survived by her sister, Rita Dagenais of Laconia and nieces, nephews & cousins.
She was predeceased in 2008 by her husband, Armand A. Dumont, after 57 years of marriage and their infant daughter, Elaine L. Dumont. Gone before her are her siblings Lauria, Grace, Edgar, Cecile, Jeanette, and Berthe.
Lou and her family would like to thank all the people who participated in her care.
A celebration of Lou's life was held on Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Parish of the Transfiguration at the corner of Kelly and Youville Streets in Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
