Born in Thompson, CT on November 24, 1917, she was the daughter of Eugene and Antoinette (Gendreau) Hamel. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1935 and made her final profession in 1944. She served in the Congregation for 73 years.
Sr. Lucienne taught at parochial elementary schools in Massachusetts at New Bedford and Attleboro; in North Grosvenordale, Ct and Rochester, NH. She also served at Our Lady of the Lake in Pittsfield, NH and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Franklin, NH. She retired to St. George Manor in Manchester, NH in 1999.
She will be remembered for her warm smile, which was always appreciated.
The family includes a sister, Gertrude Menard of North Grosvenordale, CT and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday February 11, 2008 in the chapel of St. George Manor. Burial was at St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester, NH
