Lucille (Baribeau) Provencher, 101, of Hooksett, NH passed away at 101 years of age on November 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Lucille was born on July 22, 1923, in Manchester and was the daughter of Gilda (Paradis) Baribeau, and Willie Baribeau. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life Leonard Henry Provencher in 2015 after 65 years of marriage.
Lucille worked as a pediatric nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital and her love for the caring of children continued when she and Lenny opened up Kiddie Klub on Hanover Street in Manchester. Lucille operated the Day Care Center for 17 years. Lucille and Lenny moved from Manchester to Manchester Manor in Hooksett in 1983 where she was currently residing. After the move she began working at the Fred C. Underhill Elementary School in Hooksett. She worked in the kitchen preparing meals from scratch for the students and staff. Lucille’s presence made the job enjoyable for everyone, “she was a wonderful asset.”
On July 26th, 2023 Lucille was awarded the Golden Key from the town of Hooksett.
Lucille loved knitting, ceramics and traveling. RVing across the country was her favorite!
She was a loving and devoted mother to her son, Daniel Provencher of Manchester; and her daughter Cynthia (Provencher) Townes of Hooksett and her husband Ralph Townes; Lucille’s time in Hooksett also provided her with many happy days with her four grandchildren, Ryan, Collin, Britney, and Nathan and her three great-grandchildren, Greyson, Estelle and Scarlet, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held after the Holidays at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory at a time to be determined.
