Lucille M. Robida

Sister Lucille M. Robida, CSC, (Sister Mary Normand), 76, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, Manchester, died May 19, 2006 at her residence.

Born in New Bedford, MA, on February 14, 1930, she was the daughter of Ludger and Clara (McLean) Robida. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1946 and made her final profession in 1954. She had served the Congregation for 60 years.

Sister Lucille earned a BA from Notre Dame College, Manchester and an MBA from Boston College. She taught in elementary parochial schools under the direction of the Sisters of Holy Cross in St. Anthony Manchester, Newmarket, Nashua, and Rochester, NH, North Grosvenordale, CT, and New Bedford, MA. Sister taught high school in St. Albans, VT. Sister Lucille also served at Notre Dame College for 29 years as administrator and professor.

Sister Lucille was a local superior in Manchester, NH for 11 years. Prior to moving to Holy Cross Health Center in 2004, she had spent five years at the Sisters of Holy Cross retirement home in Franklin.

Sister Lucille is survived by her sister, Therese Audette of New Bedford, MA; nephews and nieces.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday May 22, 2006 in the chapel at St. George Manor. Burial was in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of Holy Cross Development Fund, Care of Sisters of Holy Cross, 377 Island Pond Rd., Manchester, NH, 03109.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, was in charge of the arrangements.
