Lucille Y. Normand, of Manchester, NH, passed peacefully on March 7, 2017 at the age of 88. Lucille was pre deceased by her spouse Lucien J. Normand.
Lucille grew up in Manchester, the daughter of George and Hedwidge Beaudette. She had nine brothers and sisters. She worked at the Moreau Hardware following graduation from St. Joseph High School for girls. She raised five children while working in the retail and banking business including Leavitt's Department store, Manchester Federal Bank and St. Mary's Bank.
Lucille was active in the Parish of the Transfiguration (the former St. Jean the Baptiste) as a greeter. To keep healthy in her later years, she attended regular workout classes at the Manchester YMCA. She said that she enjoyed working out with young people, many of whom knew her children. She insisted that they called her "Lucille."
Lucille was an active "friend of Bill" for more than 30 years and helped many individuals in the fellowship. She celebrated life every day.
Lucille is survived by her five children and their spouses, Nancy Normand, of Concord, James and Lynn Normand of Manchester, Susan Cole and Tim Hassett of Yarmouth ME, Thomas and Denise Normand of Sun Valley ID and Charles and Lynn Normand of Jamestown, RI; her grandchildren and great grandchildren include, Eleanor Thompson, Peter Normand, Justin Normand; Jennifer Cole and husband Brendan Gamb and their children Eva and Max, Greg and Jamie Cole and their children Lily and Sophia, Mark and Kelly Hassett and their children Tommy and Megan, Tommy and Patty Normand and their children Tommy and Bridgette, and Ben and Katherine Normand; her siblings, Rita Lesniak Pariseau, Alice Rattigan, Florence Cimon, Bert Beaudette, and George Beaudette; numerous nieces and nephews and her friend and neighbor, Gaye Yanuszewski. She was predeceased by her siblings, Therese St. John, Simone Racicot, Lucien Beaudette, and Paul Beaudette.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Parish of the Transfiguration, 305 Kelley St., Manchester. Private burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, Lucille requests that friends consider a donation to the Manchester YMCA in her name that will be dedicated to tuition assistance for senior citizens who try to stay active in life as she did. The address is YMCA, 30 Mechanic St., Manchester, NH 03101
