Lynda M. Garland, 66, died November 4, 2022 at Riverside Rest Home in Dover after a period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester on September 5, 1956 to Walter and Phyllis (Weed) Garland. She was a citizen of the Nulhegan Band of Coosuk Abenaki.
Lynda attended schools in Manchester and graduated from Central High School in 1975.
She earned a degree in criminal justice from St. Anselm College and went on to work at several law enforcement agencies in New Hampshire. She had also worked with R.H. White Company and at the Public Service Company of NH Seabrook Station.
Lynda dearly loved her family, especially her son, Nathan, and her grandchildren. She shared a passion with Nathan for Native craft projects along with obtaining and restoring vintage cars from the 1950s and 1960s. Her eyes would light up whenever she spoke about Jesse and Gavin. Lynda enjoyed reminiscing with her sister about growing up in Manchester and especially her cherished times at Camp Bernadette in Wolfeboro, NH. Lynda had a knack for making her family feel special.
Lynda is survived by her son, Nathan Johnson of Dover; two grandchildren, Gavin Johnson and Jesse Johnson; her sister, Pamela Flynn and her husband, Douglas Johnson, of Hampton; a niece, Alyssa Flynn of Proctor, VT and Brendan Flynn of Hampton.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (11/15) at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine Church, 267 Webster St., Manchester. Committal prayers will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Calef Road, Manchester.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 15 Constitution Dr., Suite 1G, Bedford, NH 03110.
