M. Carol McDowell, formerly of Manchester, NH, passed away on April 19, 2018 at The Golden Crest in Franklin, NH.
Carol was born on July 14, 1922 in Manchester, NH to James E. and Mildred I. Johnson.
Carol was a graduate of Central High School and Hesser Business College. Carol was employed for nearly 19 years for the dentistry practice of the late Dr. Frederick Kalil and Lynn Kalil in Manchester. Following her retirement, she volunteered for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Manchester.
Carol was predeceased by her husband, Donald M. McDowell, in 2001; her first husband, Captain William D. Downs, in 1945; her parents, James E. Johnson in 1972 and Mildred I. Johnson in 1978; and her sister, Lorraine (Johnson) Hanson, of Meredith, NH in 1999.
Carol leaves her children; Carol Anne (Downs) Kenneson and her husband, Guy; Brenda S. (McDowell) Leahy and her husband, Tim; James S. McDowell and his wife, Donna; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces and a nephew; and her loving caretakers and friends at The Golden Crest.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester, NH.
