She was born in Manchester on June 27, 1917 to Conrad and Alida (Fradette) Ducharme. She was educated and raised her family in Amesbury, MA where she lived for many years before moving to Manchester in 1975.
Madeleine was married for 56 years to Hector Cote, who died in 1995. Together they owned and operated several businesses in Amesbury, most notably, Hector's Donuts. After Hector's death, she married her best friend, Robert Jones, with whom she shared ten happy years.
Madeleine was never known to raise her voice in anger. She loved spending time at their summer cottage on Pleasant Lake in Deerfield, NH. She was a cribbage champion and also enjoyed sewing, roller skating, square dancing and ballroom dancing.
The family includes three children, David Cote and his wife, Marlene, of Mesa, AZ, Daniel Cote and his wife, Janice, of Deerfield and Diane Coparanis and her husband, Dale, of Manhattan, KS; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Perez and all the staff of the Manor at Birch Hill, especially Nona, Julie and Megan, and the VNA Hospice team for their kind and compassionate care.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Shiloh Community Church, 55 Edmond St., Manchester, NH. A luncheon followed in the community room of the church. Private burial in Deerfield, NH will be at the convenience of the family.
