Sister Madeleine de l'Euchariste, PM, (Sr. Olivina Rivard) 93, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, died September 30, 2007 at St. Joseph Residence in Manchester.

She was born in Biddeford, Maine May 4, 1914, the daughter of Hormidas and Arize (Bisaillon) Rivard. She entered the Order of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary at St. Hyacinthe, Canada in 1932. She made her first profession in 1934 and final profession in 1939.

She received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degree from Rivier College as well as a Master of Theology Degree from St. Michael's College in Winooski, VT.

Sister Madeleine served on the faculty of St. Charles Elementary School in Dover and St. Marie Elementary School in Manchester. She was Principal of the former St. Marie High School in Manchester and PMA High School in Hudson, NH. She was a faculty member of Bishop Brady High School in Concord. During the summer months she coordinated CCD programs in various parishes in the Diocese of Manchester. In 1979 she joined the Rivier College staff serving in the accession department of Regina Library.

She retired to the Marie Rivier Community in Hudson in 1997 and transferred to the St. Joseph Residence in Manchester in 2001.

Family members include several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday October 4, 2007 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial followed in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, was in charge of arrangements.
