She was born in Montreal, Canada on February 24, 1919, the daughter of Cleophas and Rosanna (Lamoreau) Cholette. She moved to the Manchester area at the age of 5 and was educated in the local parochial schools.
Madeline loved to garden and found her greatest joy spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband Henry J. Martin died in 2007.
She was a longtime communicant of the former St. Edmond Church and had recently belonged to the Parish of the Transfiguration.
Members of her family include her two daughters, Pauline Peltak of Merrimack, NH, and Laurette Hall of Ocala, FL; four sons, Andre Martin of Manchester, Normand Martin of Lake Tahoe, CA, Richard Martin of Deerfield, and Paul Martin of Daytona Beach, FL; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorraine Buchenauer of Manchester and Marie Dargie of Manchester; one brother, Joseph Cholette of Manchester; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Goffstown Rd.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Professional Firefighters of NH, 25 Nashua Road, Unit #17, Londonderry, NH 03053.
