Marcel W. Champagne of Auburn, died on September 17, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at Villa Crest Nursing Home.
Born in Manchester, NH on February 1, 1939, he was the son of Jeanne B. (Croteau) and Walter J. Champagne.
Marcel was enlisted in the National Guard before taking ownership of Champagne Oil from his father in 1983. He grew ill and was forced into early retirement, turning the company over to his wife Deborah in 1999.
Marcel was a kind and gentle man who was just shy of his 57th anniversary with the love of his life Deborah. His favorite passed times were spent with his grandchildren and great grandchild.
Family members include his wife Deborah (Skillings) Champagne of Auburn; daughters Kimberly Crete and husband Donald of Auburn, and Kelley Plante and husband Daniel of Candia; grandchildren Julie Crete, Chad Plante, and Ashley Plante; great grandchild Jacob Anderson; 3 sisters, Jeannine Couture of Manchester, Francoise Dittbenner and husband Ivan of Manchester, and Annette Blanchette and husband Roland of Manchester; and goddaughter Lyn Gelinas of Manchester.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, September 21, 2018 at St. Peters Church, 567 Manchester Rd, Auburn, NH. Burial will take place at a later date.
