Marcel Duquette, 83, of Manchester, died March 6, 2021 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home after a brief illness.
He was born in St. Cecile de Whitton, Quebec, Canada on September 12, 1937 to Delphis and Leona (Fortier) Duquette. He moved to the United States 55 years ago and became a U.S. citizen on September 11, 1998.
Marcel worked many years as a drywall finisher with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, Local 35 of Roslindale, MA. Before moving to the U.S. he worked as a lumberjack in Canada. He was also a Fourth Degree Member of the Notre Dame Council #5163 of the Knights of Columbus.
He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed trips to Canada, anything about history, wrestling, word find puzzles and time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Marcel was predeceased by his parents and two siblings, Normand Duquette and Yves Duquette.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pierrette (Perreault) Duquette of Manchester; two sons, Denis Duquette and his wife, Lisa, of Franklin and Eric Duquette and his wife, Kristina, of Weare; three grandchildren, Denis Duquette, Jr. and his wife, Megan, Katelyn Duquette and Autumn Duquette; 10 siblings, Gisele Duquette, Claudette Hagan, Marc Duquette and his wife, Madeleine, Lisette Duquette, Rodolphe Duquette and his wife, Gaetane, Clement Duquette, Bertrand Duquette and his wife, Gaetane, Diane Duquette, Rejean Duquette and Renald Duquette and his wife, Francine; and many nieces and nephews.
Marcel will be remembered as a kind and caring person by all who knew and loved him.
There are no services at this time. Private interment was at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum in Manchester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 247 So. Main St., Manchester, NH 03102.
