Marcel J. Pouliot 81, of Goffstown, died, April 27, 2006 at his home after a long illness.
He was born in Manchester, November 1, 1924, and was the son of Joseph and Aurore (Aubert) Pouliot. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, seeing action during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Navy Under Water Demolition Team, which later became the Navy Seals. He received many medals including the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of St. Patrick Parish.
Mr. Pouliot was employed as a truck driver for the W.M. Auclair Transportation Company, and later for the Hermsdorf Fixture Manufacturing Company for 12 years. He and his wife had been living in Goffstown since 2000.
Family members include his wife of 60 years, Theresa A. (Pariseau) Pouliot, of Goffstown; 2 sons, Marcel J. Pouliot Jr., of Goffstown, and Paul T. Pouliot, of Hampton; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, 1 aunt, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Monday from 5 to 8 pm at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Patrick Church, Coolidge Ave., Manchester. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
