Margaret B. Pfalzgraf-Woodruff

August 31, 1930 — February 22, 2024

Hooksett, NH

            Margaret Bridget Aurelia (née Curtin) Pfalzgraf-Woodruff, 93, of Hooksett, NH peacefully passed February 22, 2024 after a period of declining health.

            Born in Lackawanna, NY on August 31, 1930, she was the daughter of Charles D. and Margaret U. (Brown) Curtin. One of twelve children, she would often share stories of her days growing up during the depression and helping care for her younger siblings.  She graduated from Lackawanna High School in 1948 and earned her college degree in library science from Hilbert College in Hamburg NY. 

             Family members include two sons, I. David and Meg Pfalzgraf, Michael Patrick and Jessica Pfalzgraf; grandchildren, Ryan and Abbie Pfalzgraf, Griffin and Stefanie Pfalzgraf, Kristin and Jason Harper, Bethany Pfalzgraf, and Gregory Pfalzgraf; great-grandchildren, James, Benjamin and Emma Pfalzgraf and Logan and Mollie Harper; her brother, Richard Colin Kelly and his wife, Kay Curtin, of Salley, SC.

            Marge was a devoted mother, friend, and mentor to her two sons. She enjoyed playing golf at Gowanda Country Club and bridge with her girlfriends. During winters she coordinated the Lake Shore Ski Club weekly bus trip to Kissing Bridge. Prior to retirement, she had been a real estate agent in and around the Southtowns area of Buffalo, NY for many years, enjoying meeting new people and helping them find the home of their dreams. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society of St. Mary of the Lake Parish and volunteered as a library assistant at St. Francis High School in Athol Springs, NY.  Along with her friend, Don, Marge was a member of the Pompano Beach Elks Lodge and the American Legion Sterling McLelland Post 142, of which she has the distinction of being a “Member for Life.” She also enjoyed taking cruises and once toured her homeland of the Emerald Isle, two weeks in Ireland. She often recounted the adventures they experienced including kissing the Blarney Stone. A member of St. Gabriel’s Parish in Pompano, she volunteered as an usher and was active in charitable activities for the homeless and veterans.  In her later years, she enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending summers together and connecting via video chat. 

            Marge is predeceased by Ira D. Pfalzgraf, Richard Woodruff and Donald Brewer, her fellow sojourners through this journey of life.  She is also joined with her brothers and sisters who have gone before her, Charles M Curtin Sr. and his wife, Harriet L.“Rusty” Curtin, Paul and Gloria Curtin, Rosemary (Curtin) McManus, Jeanne (Curtin) Biscone, Eileen Curtin, William and Irene Curtin, James Curtin, Frank and MaryLou Curtin, Janet (Curtin) and John "Noey" Nostrant, and June (Curtin) and James Ward. 

            Funeral services will be private at the family’s convenience.

            In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hanover Hill Health Care Center Activities Fund, 700 Hanover St., Manchester, NH 03104, where Marge spent her final days and was treated her like a queen.  The family truly appreciates all the love and care that she received from the staff.

             Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, NH is assisting the family with arrangements.
