Marguerite A. Lessard

Sr. Marguerite Lessard, CSC, (Sr. M. Alphonse Rodriguez) 89, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, 357 Island Pond Rd., Manchester died March 27, 2003 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester.

Born in Rochester on January 6, 1914, she was the daughter of Joseph and Lydia (Turcotte) Lessard. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1931 and made her final profession in 1938.

Sr. Marguerite earned a bachelor's degree from Notre Dame College in Manchester. She later taught in parochial elementary schools in Nashua and in Massachusetts at Attleboro and New Bedford. She also served as a missionary in East Pakistan from 1958 to 1965.

She was stationed in West Franklin before retiring in Manchester in 1994.

The family includes nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday March 31, 2003 in the chapel of St. George Manor. Burial was in St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech St., Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of Holy Cross Development Fund, 377 Island Pond Rd., Manchester 03109-4811.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester was in charge of arrangements.
