Maria L. (Varela) Vazquez, 78, of Manchester, passed away June 18, 2021 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Sayanes, Spain on November 15, 1942 the first of two children to Jose and Alba (Rodriguez) Varela.
Maria learned her talent as a seamstress in Uruguay and always enjoyed the opportunity to make her own dresses for special occasions. She retired after a long career in retail sales at Sears.
Maria dedicated her life to her family and found joy in sharing and creating memories. She looked forward to traveling with her husband to Spain and Uruguay reuniting with distant family and friends. In the summer you could find her at the beach or tending to her vegetable and flower gardens.
Maria is survived by her husband of 58 years, Manuel R. Vazquez of Manchester; three sons, Raul A. Vazquez and his girlfriend, Linda Dubois, of Manchester, Alejandro Vazquez and his wife, Mary Ann, of Hooksett and Alvaro Vazquez and his wife, Adriana, of Manchester; her brother Jose Luis Varela of Montevideo, Uruguay; four grandchildren and a great granddaughter; cousins, two nephews and a niece.
SERVICES: A walk-through visitation is Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. If you are not vaccinated, please wear a mask.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
