Marie A. Beland

Marie A. Beland, 92, of Manchester, died April 24, 2002, at Integrated Health Services, after a brief illness.

She was born in St. Rose Wutford, Quebec, and was the daughter of Fortunat and Lydia (Turcotte) Plante, She lived most of her life in Manchester.

She worked for Amoskeag Mills and later at various area nursing homes for several years.

She was the first president of the Sodality of St. Anne of St. Augustin parish. In addition she was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, and Les Coeur Joyeux.

She was married to Alexandre Beland, who died in 1963. In addition she was predeceased by a daughter, Violette Beland.

Family members include 2 daughters, Therese Auger of Manchester, and Jeannine Good of Portsmouth; a son, Leo Beland of Manchester; 9 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass was celebrated Monday April 29,2002 in St. Marie Church. A committal service followed in Mount Calvary Mausoleum. Urn burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
