Marie A. Gonyer

Marie A. (Lemire) Gonyer, 106, of Manchester died June 15, 2011 at Villa Crest Nursing Home after a period of declining health.

She was born in Manchester on August 14, 1904, the daughter of Alphonse and Jeannette (Desrosiers) Lemire. She was educated at the Villa Augustina in Goffstown and in the local school system.

She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church.

Marie loved living at the Villa Crest for the past 13 years. She enjoyed the activities and socializing with the other residents. .

Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She cherished visits from her family and talking on the phone with them.

Her husband Louis Xavier Gonyer, Sr. died in 1982. He owned and operated Gonyer's Pharmacy for over 20 years.

She is also predeceased by her son Louis X. Gonyer, Jr. of Texas and her daughter Lorraine T. (Gonyer) Welch of Manchester.

She leaves a son, Robert A. Gonyer and his wife Frances (Stewart) Gonyer of Venice, Fl.; two daughters, Constance E. (Gonyer) Caron, of Mooresville, N.C. and Jocelyn (Gondon) Neary, of Westbrook, Ct.; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Villa Crest Health Care Center, along with the hospice nurses and volunteers. Your care and compassion are truly appreciated.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, June 25, 2011 in St. Catherine of Siena Church. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
