Marie L. Kerselaers, 94, of Bedford died June 4, 2018 at Bedford Hills Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Grammont, Belgium on April 9, 1924, she was the daughter of Jan and Angele (Van DeCatsye) Duffeleer. She was educated in Belgium and immigrated to the United States in 1959, to become a US citizen.
Marie was an outstanding cook. She was an excellent painter, which she did not discover until later in life. Marie also enjoyed knitting and needlepoint. She would knit hats for newborns and homeless veterans. Marie was a very sweet, kind and caring person. She always had a concern for others, but loved her family more than anything. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Frank Kerselaers in2012.
Surviving family members include one daughter, Angela Nesmith and husband Richard of Bedford; two grandsons, Michael Nesmith and wife Laura of Bedford, and David Nesmith of Bedford; three great grandchildren, Zachary and Adam Nesmith of Bedford, and Ashley Nesmith of Sommerville, MA. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Francois and Laurent Duffeleer. The family would like to express their gratitude to both Bedford Hills and Compassionate Care for their outstanding love and care provided to Marie and her family.
A funeral took place on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
