She was born in St. Helen of Chester, P.Q., on May 11, 1922, the daughter of Ferdinand and Rose Anna (Boisvert) Caron. She attended St. Marie Grammar and High Schools.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed as a sales clerk with Stuarts Department Store in Pinardville for many years. Previously she had worked in several different Manchester factory mills and also at the Hillsborough County Health Care Center for the aged and infirmed.
Marie dedicated her life to her family and she found her greatest joy surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband Maurice Provencher predeceased her in 1997.
Family members include three sons, Ronald Provencher and his wife Marie of Texas, Robert Provencher and his wife Lynn of Florida, Leo Provencher and his wife Pam of Weare; one daughter, Denise Sheldon and her husband Alan of Weare; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Ed, Amy, Adam, Morgan, Kyle, Austin, Billy, and Tommy; six great-grandchildren, Lily, Iris, Viola, Paige, Reese and Hunter as well as one great-grandchild expected in January, Abby; many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
There are no calling hours. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 10th at 12 noon in Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Goffstown Fire & Rescue, 18 Church St, Goffstown, NH 03045.
