Marie Violet Roy, 83, of Manchester, NH, died October 4, 2006 at the Elliot Hospital.
She was born in Manchester on March 27, 1923, the daughter of George and Mary (Beauchesne) Belanger. She was educated in the Manchester school system and received her nursing training from Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA. She had resided in Lawrence for many years prior to moving back to the Manchester area.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed as a registered nurse for 28 years at the Catholic Medical Center.
Marie was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and a member of the Nurse Cadet Corps during WWII.
Her husband, Laurent N. Roy, predeceased her in 1997.
Family members include one son, Richard L. Roy of Manchester; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Joanne) Kiley of Manchester; four grandchildren, Kevin Kiley, Melissa Lavallee, Brian Roy, and Kristen Roy; one brother, Donald Belanger of New Port Richey, FL; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Anthony Church on Monday October 9, 2006. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd, Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Animal Rescue League of NH, 545 Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110.
