Mariette Charron

Sister Mariette was born in Nashua, NH on September 19, 1935, the daughter of Joseph and Amanda (Rioux) Charron. She entered the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1955 and made her final profession in 1962. She served the Congregation for 53 years.

Sister Mariette earned a B.A. at Notre Dame College, Manchester, NH. She taught in many elementary schools under the direction of the Sisters of Holy Cross. She was missioned in New Bedford, Attleboro, and Springfield, MA; No. Grosvernordale, CT and Manchester, Nashua, and Gonic, NH. She also served as Principal of Holy Infant Jesus School in Nashua. Besides the above, Sister Mariette taught at Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua, NH and at Castle Junior College in Windham, NH.

Due to a serious illness, Sister Mariette was transferred to Holy Cross Health Center where she passed away. She will be remembered for her generous heart and unfailing dedication.

Sister Mariette is survived by her brother, Raymond and his wife Loretta; her sister, Jeannette; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Leonie, and Jeanne; several nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

The funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, August 15, 2008 in the Chapel of St. George Manor. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.
