She was born in Springfield, MA, on April 7, 1930, the daughter of Clarence and Mabel (Gardner) White. She was educated in the Springfield school system and had graduated from Classical High School. She had attended Westbrook for two years prior to earning her bachelor's degree in Home Economics from the University of Massachusetts.
She had spent her career in the banking industry, working her way up to the management level at S.I.S. Bank (Springfield Institution for Savings Bank). She loved sewing, knitting, baking, and enjoyed exercise through her fitness routine.
She leaves one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Grogan and his wife Tannie, and their children Jack and Sydney, all of Bedford, NH; two daughters, Deborah Grogan and her children, Benjamin and Rachel Fearn, of Longmeadow, MA, Donna Beierle and her husband David, their children, Amy, Matthew, and Ryan, all of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY; one sister, Cynthia Hamilton of Niskaynua, NY; one brother-in-law, Henry Hanson; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her sister, Jocelyn Hanson.
The memorial service was held in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester, NH, on Sunday, June 1st, 2008. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Springfield, MA.
