Marilyn Jean Larlee

August 16, 1941 — August 31, 2019

Marilyn Jean (Towne) Larlee, 78, of Hudson, NH died August 31, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Milo, ME on August 16, 1941, she was the daughter of Earle William and Dorothy Isabel (Ladd) Towne. She was educated in the Milo school system and graduated from Milo High School as valedictorian.
She was the widow of David Albert Larlee, who died in 2011. They were married for 52 years.
Jeanie was devoted to her home and family. She was an accomplished herbalist whose herb garden was once visited by members of the New England Herb Society. She loved old roses and spent her time tending plants and trees of all kinds. She was a wonderful cook, flavoring everything with the herbs she grew. She was a baker, too: her children have fond memories of coming home from school to the scent of freshly baked bread and pies. She was an avid reader who especially loved poetry, and she enjoyed needlepoint, sewing, and crafts of all kinds. Jeanie had an inquisitive mind and was always delving into new areas of interest.
Family members include her children, Lisa Pemberton and partner Matthew O'Neill of Hayward, CA, Kevin Larlee of Cushing, ME, Jennifer Larochelle and husband Dan of Manchester, Mindi Larlee and husband Rob Arnold of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Molly Davis and husband Jon, John and Kyle Larochelle; one great-grandson, Max Davis; a sister, Linda Lessard of Dexter, ME and brother David Towne of Southwest Harbor, ME; nephews, nieces, and cousins. Jeanie was predeceased by her brother Ronald Towne.
There are no calling hours. A family funeral service will be held at a later time.
Donations may be made in her memory to Kitty Angels, PO Box 638, Tyngsboro, MA 01879.
Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, is assisting with arrangements.
