Martin L. Laliberte

June 2, 1926 — June 13, 2004

Martin L. "Marty" Laliberte, 78, of Auburn, died June 13, 2004, at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Born June 12, 1926, in Auburn, he was a son of Joseph and Hermeline (Gagnon) Laliberte. He was a lifelong resident of Auburn.

He owned and operated Laliberte Construction Co. for 26 years then opened Valley Street Variety for 3 years. He later owned and operated Auburn Horseshoe Pitts.

Mr. Laliberte was a lifelong communicant of St. Peter Church, Auburn, where he served as the church's first altar boy. He was a 25year charter member of the Auburn Lions Club.

He was an accomplished wood worker and enjoyed family and card games with friends.

Family members include his wife of 56 years, Alice (Marcoux) Laliberte of Auburn; five sons, Leonard Laliberte of Hooksett, Raymond Laliberte, Daniel Laliberte, both of Candia, Denis Laliberte of Auburn, and Gerard Laliberte of Center Barnstead, NH; five daughters, Susan Laliberte of Greenwich, CT, Marian Abodeely of Nashua, Annette Boisvert of Manchester, Michele Tarrant of Hudson, and Arline Tornberg of Moorestown, NJ; 23 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; two brothers, Robert Laliberte of Merrimack, and George Laliberte of McAlpin, FL; five sisters, Simone Ruais, Corona Forman, Lorraine Bernier, Jacqueline Beaudoin, all of Palm Springs, CA, and Pauline Laliberte of E. Rochester, NH; many nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday June 17, 2004 at St. Peter Church, Auburn. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
