Martin A. Webster, 79, of North Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Merrimack and Tilton, NH, peacefully slipped away, holding hands with his beloved wife Claudette Hebert Webster, following an extended period of declining health. “Marty” fought valiantly to remain independently at home, until his frail body required hospice care. He passed away on March 31, 2024.
Born October 31, 1944 to Everett Stimson Webster and Ruth Mary (Lemoine) Webster of Hollis, NH. He was the middle son of 5 boys, the brothers enjoyed a close and caring relationship. The family relocated to Indian Rocks Beach FL in the late 1950’s and Marty enjoyed the Florida sunshine. He remained in Florida until the mid 1970’s. When he returned to New Hampshire, he met and married his wife, Claudette. Upon retirement they returned to the Sunshine State in 2001. They thoroughly enjoyed being “snowbirds” for over 25 years! They also enjoyed travelling to California, Canada and Hawaii.
A decorated Viet Nam Veteran from 1964-1969, he served his Country for two tours. Marty was proud of his service in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as Specialist 5. Following an accident at work, he became disabled, which set him upon his course of declining health.
Marty was preceded in death by both of his parents; his brother John G. Webster; his sister-in-law, Jeannine Totte; his brother-in-law, Jean Hebert; and his grandson Cameron Mayhew.
Marty is survived by his wife Claudette following 49 wonderful years of marriage; his step-children Michelle Kosten (Bob), and Michael Mayhew (Jackie); his grandson Brandon Mayhew; his granddaughter Karyssa Perreault; great-grandsons Sawyer and Parker Perreault; and his brother-in-law Dennis Hebert (Karen). He is also survived by his brothers Paul E. Webster (Irene), Denis E. Webster-Greene (Paul) and Raymond L. Webster (Elaine); as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
