She was born in Hudson, PA on May 28, 1923, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Fondalevitz) Krill and was a 1941 graduate of Plains Memorial High School. Before moving to Elizabeth, NJ in 1953, she had also resided in New London, CT and Brooklyn, NY during WWII while her husband served in the USN. In 2001 she moved to NH to be with her family.
For twenty years, she and her husband were the sole owners and proprietors of The Sweet Box in Elizabeth, NJ. Prior to retirement, she had worked as a dietary aid with the Elizabeth General Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ. She had also worked at the NY Bell Telephone Company during WWII.
She was a life member of the Deborah Heart & Lung Association, Colonia, NJ Chapter. She was a longtime active member of the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Rahway, NJ. Above all else, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished the time spent with her family.
Her husband Joseph Babuscak died in 1997.
Members of her family include her daughter Marilyn DeTone and her husband Peter of Bedford, NH; one granddaughter, Tanya DeTone Robinson and her husband Patrick of Manchester; one grandson, Peter DeTone and his wife Dina of Weare, NH; her great-grandchildren, Mara, Nikka, Lena, and Caira Robinson, all of Manchester, and Anthony and Dominic DeTone of Weare; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
The funeral service took place on Monday, November 9, 2009 in Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Burial followed in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas, PA.
