She was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia, May 18, 1911, and was the daughter of John and Theresa (Kennedy) MacEachern.
She worked as an LPN at the Elliot Hospital for eighteen years.
Mary was a devout member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish where she was active in Our Lady's Guild, the CDA, and prayer group. In her sixties she enjoyed a church tour to Lourdes, France, and in her late seventies, she went on a car trip with her husband and two younger daughters to her birthplace in Inverness, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest delight.
IN HER LIFE:She was "Brown Eyes" to her devoted husband of 63 years and often beat him at their endless games of 500 rummy. She was also a redoubtable whist player.
Family members include her husband, William H. Block, of Manchester; 4 children, Mary Jane Fosher, of Barrington, NH, Robert A. Block, and his wife Sandy ,of Weare, Cindy A. Dumont, and her partner Rose Crowley, of Loudon, Teresa McGuigan, and her husband Robert, of Manchester; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, January 17, 2009 at St. Pius X church, Candia Rd. Manchester.
Burial was at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Goffstown Rd. Manchester.
