She was the oldest daughter of 14 children and was born in Wagga Wagga, Australia on October 26, 1921 to James and Anne (Wharton) Gooden. She was raised in Melbourne, Australia.
After her husband returned from World War II, they came to the US and lived in New Jersey at Cedar Grove and Beachwood.
She was predeceased by her husband, Cornelius J. Brownrigg in 1998, and by a daughter, Barbara Lynch in 2003.
IN HER LIFE: The family includes three daughters, Catherine Burns and her husband, John, of Manchester, Janet Dreher and her husband, Tom, of Forked River, NJ and Valerie Buonano and her husband, George, of Red Bank, NJ; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; 11 siblings all from Australia; and many nieces and nephews.
Private burial was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
