Mary A. (Ecker) Carignan, 97, of Hooksett, died May 31, 2017 surrounded by her family at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon from injuries received in an auto accident.
She was born in Manchester on December 6, 1919 to Joseph and Mary (Briggs) Ecker. She graduated from St. Joseph High School for Girls and lived in Manchester for most of her life. She had also wintered in Bradenton, FL for many years.
During World War II she worked for the Department of Defense as an inspector of airplane parts.
Mary enjoyed crafts of all kinds and had run a craft business out of her home. She was also a seamstress and enjoyed reading, cooking, day-trips and time spent with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Roland "Bill" Carignan in 2006 and by a brother, Joseph Ecker..
The family includes five children, Patricia Beaulieu and her husband, William, of Hooksett, Sandra Sukiennik and her husband, Anthony, and June Keusch and her husband, John, all of California, William Carignan of Manchester and Ann Carignan and her significant other, Dean Donati, of Hooksett; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeff, Justen, Janelle, Emily, Kristen and Erin; nine great grandchildren, Jordan, Jaida, Jenna, Nickolas, Trevor, Madison, Myana, Eniecia and Justen Jr.; and one nephew, Robert Chouinard.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at St. Joseph Cathedral, 439 Pine St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
