She was born in Manchester on May 22,1921, the daughter of Herbert E. and Mary (Hanley) Smith. She was raised in Manchester and attended local schools. She graduated from Manchester Central High School and also from the New England School of Art In Boston.
A gifted artist, her paintings have been exhibited in many juried shows including: the Currier Museum,
the Hopkins Center at Dartmouth College, the New England Center at UNH in Durham, Boston Symphony Hall, the Lamont Gallery at Phillips Exeter Academy, Bates Museum of Art, Maine, the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery in Portsmouth as well as the Chuck Levitan Gallery in Soho, NY.
She served as the vice-president of the New Hampshire Art Association and as a long term board member. She was also a member of the Cambridge Art Association.
She was a communicant of St. Catherine Church.
For many years, she enjoyed sharing her love of the arts and music with her family by attending Symphony Hall in Boston on Friday afternoons.
She was predeceased by her husband Walter B. Connor, her son Richard, her sister Olive O'Connor and her granddaughter Clare Medlicott.
She leaves her daughter, Nancy Medlicott, her son-in-law, Hamon and her granddaughter, Oriana all of Buntingford, England and her many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were private and at the convenience of the family.
