Mary M. Dumond

Manchester, NH, Sun City Center, FL and Van Buren, ME – Mary M. Dumond, 84, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2022 at Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center in Manchester, NH, surrounded by her loving family. Having lived a Cursillo weekend many years ago, Mary is now enjoying her Fifth Day. Mary was born on May 1, 1937 in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, Canada to Ernest and Mary Eva Loring McCrossin. Mary grew up in Van Buren, where she met her first husband, Stacy, and raised seven children on the family potato farm in Cyr Plantation. After Stacy's untimely death, Mary was blessed to have met and married her second husband, Leon Malenfant, and enjoy 19 winters in Sun City Center, Florida. Mary's loving nature, wit, charm and humor is what endeared people to her, whether it was at Borderview Manor, where she worked as a CNA/Med Tech, or walking the halls at Villa Crest, her final home. Mary was a devout Catholic and that faith and devotion to the Blessed Mother is how she lived her life and in being of service to others all the time, not just in their hour of need. Mary was also a volunteer for Hospice of Aroostook for several years.

Mary is survived by her seven children Debra Dumond of Gorham, ME, Brenda Montague and husband, Jim, of Wimauma, FL, Nora Tracy and husband, Kevin, of New Durham, NH, John Dumond and wife, Cheryl, of Newbury, NH, Patricia Russell and husband, Bret, of Hooksett, NH, Patrick Dumond and wife, Janice, of Hampden, ME and Cathy Sirois and husband, Paul, of Goffstown, NH. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, one sister, Ernestine Cooley of Jefferson City, MO, and sister-in-law, Doris McCrossin of Claremont, NH. Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Stacy, in 1995, and second husband, Leon, in 2015. She was also predeceased by brothers, Joseph and Robert, and sisters, Isabel and Rita.

Mary's family would like to thank the entire staff at Villa Crest for the exceptional care they gave their Mom during her last days there.

Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Bruno-St.Remi in Van Buren, Maine on Sat, June 11, 2022, at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Mary's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
