Mary Hamrock, (centenarian) 100, of Bedford, died July 22, 2023, at Bowman Place, after a period of declining health.
Born in Boston, MA on November 8, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Dunbar. She was educated in Boston and worked as a secretary in local schools while living in California.
While residing in Palo, CA, Mary became an avid gardener. During her 40 years residing in Bedford, she was an avid golfer, a longtime member of the Manchester Country Club and played in several golf leagues over the years. She and her husband Bill were founding members of the BC Club of New Hampshire. She was a very vibrant, compassionate, caring and strong willed woman. Above all else, she will be remembered as a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend.
Mary is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, William Hamrock, in 2017. She was also predeceased by her four older siblings, John “Jack” Dunbar, Gertrude Smith, Margaret Lavin and William Dunbar.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, August 1st at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford, NH 03110. Burial will take place at 10 am on Monday, August 7th, at NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 DW Highway, Boscawen, NH. At the family’s request, please do not send flowers.
