Born in Chicago, IL on March 31, 1925, she was the daughter of Oscar and Angela (Jansson) Hagen. She was raised, educated and lived in the Chicago area most of her life before moving to Manchester in 2008.
Mrs. Hansen worked as a secretary before her marriage, prior to the birth of her children and after her children were grown. She retired in 1988.
She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed knitting, reading, gardening and needlepoint. In retirement, she volunteered many years at the Economy Shop in Oak Park, IL.
She was married to Robert Hansen, who died in 2001. Before his death, she and her husband enjoyed traveling and took several memorable vacations.
IN HER LIFE: The family includes two children, John Hansen and his wife, Patti, of Plano, TX, and Amy Thompson and her husband, Paul, of Manchester; five grandchildren, Leslie Hansen, Nick Hansen, Brian Thompson, David Thompson and Patrick Thompson; two sisters, Betty Maseng of Columbia, SC and Nancy Frank of Ithaca, NY; and eight nieces and nephews.
