Mary T. Haynes, 77, of Manchester, NH died Saturday September 3, 2022 at her home after a period of declining health.
Born May 5, 1945, in Manchester, she was the daughter of H. Laurent and Elizabeth (Hebert) Trask. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School and went on to obtain her Bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College. Mary also spent time living in Plainfield, NJ and Allentown, PA before settling back down in Manchester. She was an elementary school teacher during her years in NJ and PA, and taught upon returning to NH for a few years as well. She then worked for Dean’s Carpet for many years, and most recently as a medical transcriptionist at Elliot Hospital.
Mary will be remembered for her love of gardening, bird watching, and family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her husband of 5 years, Douglas Carrier, Sr.; her son Edward Helbig & his wife Anne of Langhorne, PA; grandchildren Harper & Hannes Helbig; sister Laura Bliven of Goffstown; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and 2 great-grand-nieces. She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters Elizabeth “Betty” Gagnon and Esther Cashin; and her late husband Murray Haynes.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held Sunday September 11th from 5 to 7 pm at Lambert Funeral Home, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, NH 03104. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday September 12th at 9:30 am at St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH 03053 followed by committal service at 12 pm at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH 03303. Take Exit 17 off Rte. 93 North, then follow US-4 W and US-3 N to the cemetery which will be on your right.
