Mary F. Kilrain, 80, of Manchester, died April 5, 2007 at her residence after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Manchester on May 29, 1926, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Kearns) McAllister. She was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, class of 1943.

Prior to retirement, she had been employed by New England Telephone Company for many years. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Raphael Church.

Mary enjoyed raising her family, working for the telephone company and shopping. No one made a better turkey stuffing, tuna casserole or brownies. Mary was well known for her holiday open houses where she welcomed family, friends and neighbors. In her retirement she greeted customers at Kilrain's Market. Recently she enjoyed watching television, especially golf, westerns, and mysteries.

Members of her family include her husband, Thomas Kilrain of Manchester; three sons, Thomas Kilrain Jr. and wife Mary of Manchester, Michael Kilrain of Goffstown, James Kilrain and wife Helene of Manchester; two daughters, Peggy Kilrain of Manchester, Shaunna Pinard and husband Donald of Manchester; Mary will be missed by her dear grandchildren, Tara Harty of Campton, Michael Kilrain Jr. of Epping, Meghan Kilrain and Matthew Kilrain of Goffstown, Thomas J. Kilrain of Somersworth, Colleen Kilrain of Manchester, Kellie Bowers of Hudson, Erin Kilrain of Barre, VT, Matthew McEwen, Kate Pinard, Abby Pinard, and John Pinard, all of Manchester; Her two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Maura Harty of Campton brought her much joy; Mary will also be missed by her brother, Jack McAllister of FL; her cousins, Sr. Margaret Ahern RSM, Jane Kearns, Colleen Desmarais, all of Manchester, and Judy Dionne of Rye Beach. She was predeceased by one great-grandchild, Connor Kilrain.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday April 10, 2007 in St. Raphael Church. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
