Mary Elizabeth Staniels

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Staniels, 80, of Manchester died June 13, 2018 at a local healthcare facility.
Born in Cranston, RI on April 7, 1938, she was the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Staniels. She earned her bachelor's degree from Keene State Teachers College and a master's degree from Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed as an English teacher at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton for many years.
She enjoyed every summer at her home on Hampton Beach, going to shows and luncheons with her many friends.
Above all else, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.
Family members include her cousins Brenda Mullen, Larry Joyce, Bob and Joan Joyce, Neil and Karen Joyce; her sister-in-law Ann Staniels; niece Linda Staniels; nephews, Brian Staniels, Kevin and Jodi Staniels; many other family members and dear friends. She also leaves behind her precious cat "Patches".
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, June 18, 2018 in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Meetinghouse Road, Bedford. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
