Born in Montreal, Quebec on May 17, 1923, she was the daughter of Alfred and Florence (Meehan) Baily. She lived in the Province of Quebec many years before moving to Manchester 51 years ago. She became an American citizen in 1976.
She earned a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Sir George Williams University in Montreal, and an associate's degree in Library Science from the University of New Hampshire.
Mrs. Weise worked as a librarian for the Manchester School System for many years. She volunteered and worked many years for the Red Cross, Easter Seals and Elliot Hospital.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Catherine Church and was a member of the Manchester Women's Club. She enjoyed bowling, skiing and hiking.
IN HER LIFE: The family includes three children, Susan M. Weise of Boston, MA, David A. Weise of Lodi, CA and Karen J. Thurston of Stratham; four grandchildren, Kathryn Weise and Alexandra Weise both of Lodi, CA, and Andrew Thurston and Michael Thurston both of Stratham; and a brother, James A. Baily of Toronto, ONT.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, January 12, 2009 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed in the chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
