Matthew Edward Budway, 49, of Londonderry, died April 21, 2023, at Elliot Hosptial, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Manchester, NH on May 11, 1973, he was the son of Ronald Budway Senior and Charlotte (Gadbois) Budway. Matt graduated from Merrimack High School and worked at Home Depot in Hooksett and Intervale Country Club in Manchester for many years. He participated for decades in the New Hampshire Special Olympics in swimming and represented the United States in the Special Olympics World Games twice - once in sailing and once in golf. Matt has recently been living at the All American Assisted Living Community with his mother and making lots of friends. Matt lived in Hooksett for most of his life.
Matt had a special kind of charisma that endeared him to all who knew him. He was kind, caring, funny, mischievous, and above all brave. He faced his disability head-on and never let it get in the way of his enjoyment of his time on earth. He set a shining example of how to live life well in the face of adversity. He loved to spend time with his family, friends, and multiple pets he cared for over the years, especially Miss Daisy. He was well known in the local special needs community and benefited greatly from services provided by the Moore Center and Granite State Independent Living. He loved to follow all sports and professional wrestling, and he was a fan of slapstick comedy, most notably the Three Stooges.
Family includes his mother Charlotte A. (Gadbois) Budway of Londonderry; three siblings, Lisa Gray of Deerfield, Deborah Dross and husband Steven of Pittsfield, and Ronald Budway, Jr. and wife Rebecca McLeod of Milford; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father.
