Matthew Carl Lundgren, 42, of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving and heartbroken family, following a courageous year-long battle with brain cancer.
Matthew was born in Burbank, California, on February 22, 1983, to his loving parents, Carl A. and Deborah (Peace) Lundgren. He spent the first nine years of his life in Southern California, living near his grandmother and his father’s family. The family later moved to the Seattle area, where Matt grew up. In 2015, he relocated to New Hampshire with his family to be closer to his mother’s extended family, where he continued to build meaningful connections and lasting roots.
Matt was a valued and respected employee at Brady Sullivan Properties, where he worked as a Maintenance Technician Supervisor. Though his time with the company was only a few short years, he learned quickly, worked tirelessly, and earned the respect of everyone around him. He was known for his strong work ethic, problem-solving abilities, and ever-present smile. His colleagues remember him not only for the quality of his work, but for his kindness, willingness to help others, and the positive spirit he brought with him every day.
Matt loved football in all its forms. He was a devoted fan of the Las Vegas Raiders, spent countless hours playing Madden, and took great pride in his Fantasy Football leagues. One of his greatest joys was coaching his flag football teams, where he shared his love of the game, encouraged teamwork, and became a positive influence in the lives of young players. Football wasn’t just a pastime for Matt — it was a way he connected with others and expressed his passion, leadership, and heart.
He was tragically predeceased by his father, Carl A. Lundgren, in 2023.
Matthew’s memory will be forever cherished by his devoted mother, Deborah Lundgren, of Merrimack; his loving brothers, Stephen Lundgren and Jeremy Lundgren, both of Merrimack; and the love of his life, his beloved girlfriend, Natalie Auger, of Manchester, who brought him deep happiness, comfort, and companionship. He is also lovingly remembered by aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues whose lives he touched deeply.
A funeral service will be held in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester on Sunday, January 18th at 3:30 pm. A celebration of Matthew's life will follow at the Puritan Backroom's Conference center at 5 pm.
