He was born in Manchester on December 14th, 1922, the son of George and Tekla (Wyskiel) Piecuch. He was educated in the Manchester school system.
During WWII, he served in the US Army.
He had been employed for many years in the local tanning industry, most recently for Merrimack Leather Tanning.
Matthew was a member of the Ukrainian Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, as well as the Winona Club. He enjoyed playing cribbage and clamming.
He leaves behind one daughter, Victoria Desruisseaux and her husband Richard of Merrimack, NH; two granddaughters, Tammie Lambert and Brenda Santora; one grandson, Brian Desruisseaux; three great-grandchildren, Michelle, Sean, and Joshua; two sisters, Sophie Boutin of Albany, NY, and Nellie Sidlik of Manchester; nephews and nieces. He was also survived by his close friend and longtime companion Joan Frost. He was predeceased by one sister Ann Soterion.
The funeral service was held in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., on Friday April 25, 2008. Urn burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester.
