Maureen S. Johnson

Maureen S (Volkmann) Johnson, 82, of Manchester, NH passed away on September 13, 2024 surrounded by family and friends after a period of declining health. 

Born in Manchester on June 27, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Marieanne J. (Rzasa) Volkmann. 

She graduated from Manchester Adult High School. Maureen worked at the Indian Head Shoe Factory in Manchester for several years then went on to work in the electronics industry, to include Modutec and Allen Bradley which is where she retired from in 2009. 

 She attended services at the United Methodist Church in Manchester for many years. She enjoyed going to the beach, dancing, playing aggravation, cribbage and of course, bingo. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had many friends who she thought of as family, almost everyone who knew her called her Mom. She had a smile that could light up a room and she touched the lives of all she met. 

 Maureen was a loving daughter, sister, partner, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will forever be missed. She would not want you to grieve when she crosses your mind; she would want you to smile, dance, and remember all the great times & laughs you had with her. 

 The family would like to thank the many friends and medical care providers for their loving support and guidance throughout her illness. 

 She was predeceased by 5 siblings; Gloria Reynolds, Virginia Bowen, Donald Volkmann, Henry Volkmann and Dolores Volkmann. 

 She is survived by her siblings; Wayne and Carole, her loving partner, Howard Barrett; her children, Suzanne Soucy and her husband, Paul, Noella St. Denis and Scott Johnson; her grandchildren, Ryan and his wife, Carrie, Adam and his wife, Tracy, Tyler and Travis; great-grandchildren, Owen, Mac, Nadiah, Kassie, Devin, Keaghan and a great-great-grandson, Dominick. 

 Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 5:00pm -8:00pm with a funeral service beginning promptly at 8:00pm at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester, NH 03104. Committal prayers will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 11:00am in the mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester, NH.
