Maurice J. Bruneau, 80, of Manchester died August 17, 2004 at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec on September 5, 1923, he was the son of Arthur N. and Beatrice (Bergeron) Bruneau. He was a graduate of St. Anthony High School and later attended St. Anselm College. He lived in Manchester most of his life.
During World War II he served in the US Army.
Mr. Bruneau worked at Amoskeag Mills in Manchester and as a self employed tool and die maker for many years. He was a 3rd. degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Notre Dame Council 5163, the Catholic War Veterans and the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood.
He was a master craftsman and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, walking and cooking.
The family includes his wife of 57 years, Rita Y. (Mailhot) Bruneau of Manchester; two children, Marie J. Miner of Hooksett and Roger E. Bruneau of Baldwinsville, NY; a grandson, Kenneth D. Miner of Manchester; cousins, nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday August 20, 2004 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge St., Manchester.
