Maurice L. "Rusty" Cormier, 64, of 6 Kelly Court, Goffstown, died December 15, 2003, at Catholic Medical Center, after a sudden illness.
Born in Pembroke, November 22, 1939, he was the son of Joseph Eugene and Marie Olivia (Gagnon) Cormier. He was a graduate of Pembroke Academy and the University of New Hampshire.
He served in the Air Force and later was a member of the NH Army National Guard for many years. He was currently a member of the army reserves and held the rank of Colonel.
Mr. Cormier retired last year after working nearly 30 years as a road toll administrator for the NH Department of Safety.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Knights of Columbus. In addition he was a member of the NH Amateur Ballroom Associates.
He enjoyed candlepin bowling, traveling and was an avid cruiser. He also was a collector of military patches.
Family members include four sons, David L. Cormier of Goffstown, Paul J. Cormier, Kenneth M. Cormier, and William R. Cormier, all of Manchester; a daughter, Karen A. Fleming of Manchester; 2 grandchildren; his companion of 26 years, Joyce Wilson.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday December 18, 2003 in the Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelley St., Manchester. Burial was in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
